HEALTH INSURANCE
Insurance companies
Bupa | WPA | Axa PPP | Cigna | Vitality | Aviva | Exeter
It is essential that you contact your health insurance provider prior to your admission to hospital to ensure that you are fully covered for the intended procedure and anticipated length of stay for your treatment.
We ask that you bring your insurance policy membership number and authorisation number to all your appointments and admissions. Your insurance company should advise you if there are any aspects of your care plan which they are not willing to provide cover for.
Please make sure that you are aware of any excess payments, exclusions or shortfalls on your policy, as you will be personally liable for these costs once treatment has been provided.
Pre-authorisation from your insurance company is required for each appointment and admission. It is your responsibility to make sure authorisation is in place.
Before admission, you will receive an Undertaking to Pay Charges form, on which you should complete your insurance company’s information as outlined on the form.
After you are discharged an invoice will be sent directly to your insurance company. A separate invoice, if necessary, will be raised for items not covered by your insurance policy and sent directly to you.
Patient Transport Service (PTS) costs could be added to your final invoice if used and not specifically covered under any insurance plan.
If you are prescribed any medication upon discharge an invoice will be raised as these are not covered by medical insurance. Please note that NHS exemption certificates are not valid for private patient prescriptions.
SELF FUNDING
Self funding is available if you wish to transfer your care from your NHS care pathway into a private healthcare service. Our friendly team will be able to meet with you and advise on a guide price even if you have not yet been seen by a consultant. You are able to access the Harrogate Harlow team by contacting 01423 555430 or complete our online form.
Costs will include (but not be exclusive to):
- Accommodation
- Radiology
- Blood tests
- Private consultant fees
- Any further diagnostic or surgical procedures needed for your care
- Private patient transport
Fixed cost packages
If you don’t have health insurance but would like to know if you can pay for yourself, then please call on 01423 555430 or complete our online form. Our friendly team will advise you on a guide price even if you have not yet been seen by a consultant.
When you have seen a consultant, we can prepare a bespoke fixed-cost package and arrange a convenient time for your admission.
Thereafter, we carry out a pre-assessment appointment to ensure that you are fit for surgery.
The full fixed-cost of your treatment is payable prior to admission. Any changes to your care will be discussed with you during your stay so that you are kept up-to-date about costs.
Patient Transport Service (PTS) costs could be added to your final bill payment if required and not specifically covered under any insurance plan.
